GRACIE

Finally did it!

I thought the tabby pattern would be the biggest challenge but in the end it was the angle of the face that posed most difficulties. I did try sketching in the body too, at first, but it didn't look right at all.

What do I think? It was difficult, and I'm pleased with it. Especially as I had a lovely tabby years ago. But I don't think I've quite got the happy expression, do you? I might do some more work on that left ear... some more shading, I think.

That is really beautiful. You do amazing work. I agree that maybe a little more shading might be needed on her left side. But other than that I wouldnt change it much more. Perfect expression. I can see how challenging it must have been to capture that angle!

Thanks for the encouragement, Susan.

& I've made it a little darker now.

The photo appears a lot darker on the screen than on paper so maybe I should have been drawing from the screen and not a print-out! Unfortunately the room with my computer in is the coldest in the house though! Brrrr....

What a nice drawing ! It really looks lively !
Concerning cats on tuesday don't bother. You post whenever you can on a tuesday there is no obligation. No Webring either. It's just a friendly get together for cat lovers on tuesdays. That's all. And if you can't participate you just can't. Maybe later I will do a blogroll when enough people wish to be on that for the moment just follow the "rules" on my blog. The little cat on the toilet which you have to put on your post indicates other cat friends that you participate, and if you click on my Mr. Linky, others know that you have posted on this day. So it's totally free !

Just saw your other comment about tinsel. Yes we have some wonders happening here too ! Silver grass is much nicer than green grass !

Helena, you really do have tabby markings down! And her eyes are mesmerizing!

thank you all for the encouragement. I'm finding it hard to draw at the moment, I think it's the darker/shorter days- they get me down and uninspired!

I have an idea for the next one though....!
