For Miss Peach

The princess of blogger cats has curled up her tail and snuggled down for the last time. Poor, dear Miss Peach, whose gave us so many smiles and, at almost 19, gave me so much hope when my own, shall we say, 'more advanced in meows' cat, Scooter, was unwell.

Dear Miss Peach. Thousands of miles away, yet her peachiness, gentle, yet knowing and strong, reached all the way to Colchester.
I was late discovering she had moved on as I'd been unable to log on.... I only found out today and have wept buckets for my dear friend across the pond.

I wore my peach coloured scarf when I went to the shops, and chose some flowers... which ones, I thought, as I walked round the flower stall.... suddenly the absolute perfection in peachiness appeared. A mixture of pink carnations and orange roses. Who on earth would normally put those together in a bouquet? Yet together they were perfect- peachy.

I have placed them in a vase near an orangey pottery cat. Nearby, little Fluffy's precious ashes, and a candle for each of them.....

I'm alone tonight with my Scooter, as Luvbug is away in Ireland. But Scoot has taken to snuggling next to me and stretching out under the duvet with me. I'll appreciate his cheekiness and warmth even more tonight.

She must appreciate your love dedicated from miles away.

Meanwhile, you cherish whatever time you have with everyone you love. Take care when luvbug ain't around.

My purrrrecious friend Helena...I just finished reading your wonderful comforting words to my sister Patty over the telephone...needles to say she cried. How touched we are by your love for our old sweet ginger girl Miss Peach. She was indeed an icon of hope for so many all over the world and we are thankful that her days were as many as they were.
Your email was so touching about the idea of having a special tea party for her remembrance. I love this idea and will think about just the right time to arrange it when life settles down a bit at the cozy cottage. Her many friends do indeed need something fun to look forward to in these sad times surrounding so many of us at the moment.
Your kindness carries us through our empty days...gives us hope that the ache will stop being so intense and instead become more filled with memories of all the special times we shared.
I love the peachy roses and carnations you picked for us...I will take them home with me and share them on my blog for all to enjoy along with your words...I hope you purrmit:)
I am thankful for your treasured friendship over the years and hope it will never end.
Love Karla

Miss Helena - what a beautiful tribute to such a special kitty. I too wept when I read that Miss Peach had crossed the Bridge - my 21 year old Sinda crossed over in February so I know that empty feeling that Karla & the LapDaddy have. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about her. Tina
