Is it just me, or does this look a bit spooky?
Whilst up in Yorkshire last week, walking through some beautiful gardens, I spotted this tree. I was immediately drawn to its base. To me, it looks like a hand. I can imagine the tree running along on its fingers at night, and settling in a different spot each day, keeping an eye on the visitors.
Slightly spooky!

Yes, a giant green monster thingy walking on it's hands. Brrr!
perhaps if we could hide in a corner and stay all night, we would see him move...slowly, like a king...I visited an exhibition on Friday...saw the photo of a huge tree but upside down...the roots were waving in the sky and the branches pulling strength out of the earth...that was great...a photo by Rodney Graham...your photo would have been great in this place...
makes me dream...
I see an octopus base, doesn't mean it can't wonder around at night - which delights me. I'd love if that were so! Plus, I see the roots just curling out of the ground in slow-motion whip like motions as it feels around for a new spot to plant its tentacles.
Reminds me of an Ent foot!
Perhaps there are still some Ents around?
I wish, I wish, I wish~
Tree shepherds, nothing to be alarmed about.

I saw an elephants foot???
Your poems are excellent by the way, so expressive, very moving x Auds
Chewy,
You got it! I'm sure I saw a Monty Python animation of trees formed from hands when I was too young- it must have had an affect!
Mousie,
Ah, your description reminds me of a tree in South America I've only seen in pictures: it's roots stand like long stilts, only the tips reaching the water. Spooky!
Victorya,
Brrrrrrr! Reminds me of The Day Of The Triffids!
Rachelle, what's an Ent foot? LOL! I put it into Google and got lots of references to Ear/Nose/Throat surgeons! LOL!
Is it something from LOTR?
Audrey,
Yes, I can see how the texture on the bark makes it a bit elephanty!
Thank you for the encouragement re the poems :^)
