Home and ok....touch wood!

Got home last night. Rang mum before she went to bed; ok.
Asked mum to ring me each morning once she's up; this morning, ok.
Rang her again lunchtime; ok, just going for a walk with a neighbour.

(Can you tell I'm not relaxing yet?)

Plan is to stay here these 5 days, then back to mum's for the weekend + week + following weekend, then back here... so 5 days here, 9 there, 5 here, 9 there, and so on.

If "anything happens" this time, we're going to take it as she can't be left on her own yet. What we do then, move her in or move me in there, well, we'll cross that bridge when and if we have to. Please keep things crossed for her. For us.

Now.... what was it I used to do around here??? :)

We are hope she is able to stay on her own, this time. I know how tiring this is for you. I hope you can relax and get some crafts complete!

I will keep everything crossed for you Helena that your Mum stays well. Can you get any support for your Mum while you're not there? My friend has had a sensor fitted that registers if her mother falls in the house and contacts a keyholder. A bit like a Lifeline.

Glad you're home again, Helena. Sending all positive thoughts and warm wishes across the oceans to you that this time all will be well.

We have something similar here to what Julie mentioned. Elderly people can get a 'buzzer' on a necklace which they wear and if they fall or otherwise injure themselves, they don't have to try to move but they can just press the buzzer and help will come.

I'm glad you're back, and I know how worried you must be feeling for your Mum now you're apart. And you're probably feeling guilty too because you're glad to be home. Don't beat yourself up, you are doing the best you can do for your beloved Mum, I'm sure she knows that too.

I'm glad things are going well for you. You must be so worried though. Relax? Not for a bit I'm afraid, but it will happen as your Mum improves. Concentrating on very positive thoughts for you all.
