5 minute sketch

Fluffy is actually a black cat, but it was the expression I was after. To colour it in would have spoiled it. Or put another way, I was just too chicken.

How cute is that cat - great sketch Helena.

Thanks for your comments btw. Yes, I think your brother's Christmas card philosophy is a touch on the cautious side! LOL.

Oh, I very much like this sketch. Black cats can also be difficult to photograph. I like how you suggested the body with few strokes.

I can just imagine that drawing black animals is as hard as photographing them! Whenever we have to photograph a black alpaca, we really have to work hard at getting the lighting right, or else the features just melt into the black!
Cute, cute, cute!

Casdok,

She is!

Apart from when she's just woken up from a deep sleep. Then she's a bit lumpy and dishevelled.

Papoosue,

Thank you!

& Yes, I think he is a tad, er, mean!

Rachelle,

Yes but at least when you're drawing a cat you know they're not going to launch into a pronk!

You have oodles of talent - all joking aside, I really am VERY jealous!

Well done!

Chewy,

"pronk" is when the alpacas are jumping about for the fun of it. It's a cross between a bounce and a forward jump.

Shrinky,

My elder sister is a brilliant artist - art runs in the family and it had almost run out when it got to me. I'll have to put some of her work up, then you'll see!

I am really enjoying your sketches, the ones below, too, even if I don't comment on them all.

I don't think I could do that in 5 minutes! (In fact, I know I couldn't!)

It's very cool.
