ABC Wednesday......
O is for Overcast........ views from my back garden half an hour ago. It's sunny but more rain is approaching.
It's hard to plan things at the moment. One day it's fine, the next we have downpours. Saturday was the warmest day of the year so far. Now it's cold and rainy again. See? How do you plan things? Yesterday wasn't so bad and I bought some herbs to plant out today. Looks like they'll be staying in pots for little longer!
O is for Overgrown.......Another snap from my garden half an hour ago! This is rosemary. I think it may be a little overgrown!
But why trim it back? All it will reveal is boring decking. I'd rather have the rosemary. Frogs hide under the lower branches sometimes. And when baby sparrows have first fledged, they snuggle in and hide here too, waiting for parents to return with food.
Sometimes part of the garden might look a little scruffy to human eyes, but these are the places nature likes best!

I know what you mean about the weather! I have been cleaning my oven, yes the one going away .....my mum would have said "What will people think!" It's the cleanest it has ever been! LOL!
I love the overcast picture. Great O post.

Clever thinking re overcast - my skies the same.
And I love your over-grown Rosemary bush - mine died in last years floods. I adore the herb & smell.

Nice!
Love the first pic!
it's up and down like a yo-yo here too at the moment. Two good ones...then a rotten one..etc. "They", whoever "they" are.... are calling for snow flakes later...but so far, Mother Nature is fooling them with some brilliant sunshine.
I am not cutting back much either...and thinking of letting it all go wild in the backyard...just need to build a fence to enjoy that.... the neighbours might not appreciate it... but honestly, I am thinking Xeriscaping. You know......some large boulders....indigenous grasses, shrubs and the like. I have an area like that on the side of the house and it is great. I must go shovel more large stone gravel soon... to replenish and cover the smaller gravel, which I dont like so much anymore.
I like your overgrown rosemary, I love the thought of baby sparrows hiding there.
the weather is certainly mixed up, i wish it would warm up!
We have got the same type of weather in the western part of Norway these days.
I think that your Rosemary is impressive! :)

Nope, your not too late for me. I like the overcast photo. good one.
Great choice for O and lovely photos.
Our mini garden is a jungle by mid-summer! The Grandkids love it! We had a big rosemary which we let grow until bits of it broke off with the weight of the branches.
We could all do with a good long spell of warm sunshine, methinks. Hugs, Lynda
You see? This is why I love you!
ps., tag, you're it!
I agree with you about the plants! I have a huge evergreen tree in my garden and I can hear the birds chirping all the time - so lovely! And my neighbous wanted me to chop the tree down - NO WAY! It's a bird habitat that also is home to squirrels!
I love those overgrown bits :-)
It makes the space look lovely and comfortable!
Our days get swiftly shorter and colder as the reverse happens in Blighty!
Are you thinking about that book we discussed??????
Say yes. Write it. Illustrate it. Become the next Beatrix Potter .....
