Why thank you! [bleagh]

My sister lives in Australia. She emailed me today and said that her boyfriend had bought her the worst present ever. She wouldn't say any more. Apparently I have to call Mum to find out, as she's already been on the phone to her. She wouldn't go through again for me, it's that bad.

Well, that got me thinking, what was the worst present I ever got?
I'm afraid it was from my fiance. (Sorry, Luvbug, if you read this!)
It was when I first went on some new antidepressants and suffered one of the horrible side effects: a really, really dry mouth.
So he went to the pharmacist without telling me, and came home with "artificial saliva spray". Eugh!
But the bad bit is- he didn't just give it to me, he told me to close my eyes and open my mouth. Obviously reluctant (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I was assured it was safe to do so and that it was "nothing nasty". So, thinking it would be CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did so, and he squirted some of it in!
YUCK!
It was gross.
I know he meant well, "bless 'im", but even so.....
bleagh!
So...over to you- what was the worst present you ever received????

Thank you for visiting my little corner of the world. I love your site and couldn't resist but giggle and yet shudder at the thought of your fiance's gift. I have learned that men obviously mean well on many occasions... so all we can do is grin and bear their gifts. ;)

As for me, I can't really remember the worst present ever (maybe that's where my menopause kicks in...) ;) But the quickest thing that comes to mind is not so much a bad gift, my boyfriend sent me a text message informing me that he had bought me something, wouldn't tell me what it was, that I would have to wait and see... what was it? Well, a night light for my bathroom, he has night lights throughout his house for when he walks around at night. So it was more for his need than mine. Sweet thought, I thought it was rather cute all in all.

I will stay tuned to hear what your sister received as a gift.

Hullo Sugar cat!

Well I finally found out what the present to my sister was- nothing scandalous at all in the end!

It was a CD of " RAF Battle Of Britain Themes" hmmm.....

you see, my sister was in the Royal Air Force for a while, and was out in the first Gulf war. She came out of it very ill, and saw some friends lost. She has really bad memories of stuff she saw. This is partly why she went to live in Australia; to start again.

So...she doesn't like to think of the RAF. Or war. Or war films.

So, as choices of CDs go, not a terribly good one.
