ABC Wednesday......
Y is for YELLOW......
This is the laburnum tree in my front garden. I took these pictures in May. The yellow blossom has now gone, leaving paler bunches of seeds hanging down in their place.
It was lovely to look out onto this tree in the evenings. Even if it were stormy or overcast, it was like a burst of sunshine.
I could also show you yellow fields of rape seed oil growing in the spring, daffodils, or even the yellow walls of my living room and dining room! Yellow is my favourite colour. But I am feeling a little yellow myself at the moment, as I have just come back from the dentist!

The blossoms are gorgeous! I hope thy're not messy to clean up after though. Oh wll;. the price of beauty!
I've just come back from the dentist too - was expecting to have two teeth out - but he's put a cap on one which will keep it going a while.
The other tooth came out without too much bother - last one he took out was a wisdom tooth and I screamed the surgery down. Think I'll be able to tackle a cup of tea soon.
Wonderfully yellow and English.
Actually, I'm not sure yellow is my favorite color.
I go on and off things.
Yes, Goodbye to all that is wonderful.
Have you read "Seigfried's Journey" by S.Sassoon which covers much the same ground and is most interesting.
sorry about the dentist!
your eg tour guide,
Ah no, the wind took them away!
Ackworth born,
I'm having one already, through a straw! It takes more than half a numb mouth to keep me from my tea! LOL!
ELizabeth,
No, but I read 'Memoirs of a fox hunting man', part one of his 3 part autobiography. I used to know a man (sadly now died) who had corresponded with Sassoon and was given a ltd edition volume of his Christian poetry. He converted late in life and this fella (a priest called Fr Meek) helped him. It was a privilege to see their letters and the poems!
we have a lovely tree like this in our yard, too.
I agree with you: yellow is a lovely colour !The blossoms are beautiful !
I 'm going to the dentist today !Really!
I did'n't know this idiomatic expression that you use !
Miss Yves
That looks like our American Yellow Rain Tree - which very well could also be called laburnum for all I know. It's one of my very favorite trees when in bloom.
Wow, this is gorgeous.
A lovely yellow tree--that would cheer me up on a rainy spring morning, too! We had similar thoughts today:)
The dentist is my least favorite place to go--hope you're feeling better soon.
Beautiful! Laburnum is such a sunny tree, and yours looks so bright and healthy. The right yellow is such a cheerful colour.
Going to the dentist is enough to make anyone feel yellow.
I've always admired & fancied a Laburnum.
These yellow blossoms put a smile on "Louis's" face!
"Louis" thanks you for visiting San Francisco Bay Daily Photo
Lovely yellow blossom. Pity it doesn't last all year isn't it. Thanks for your kind comments.
Lovely yellow flowers on your tree for ABC Wednesday.
Thank you for visiting my blog.
Hope you are feeling better from your dentist appointment.

I had the same experience myself last week Helena, so can sympathise very much!
However, I'm glad you've chosen cheery yellow for today - we all need it!
Gorgeous yellow post! I love yellow too, as did my mom.
Hope you're feeling better soon--serendipity! I was at the dentist and the endodontist yesterday.
Take.good.care.
Oh poor you re the dentist! Not my favourite time, either.
Love your tree! We have lots of that kind here, too, and they do look lovely when in bloom.
Feel better. :)
Yellow was a popular choice this week. I happen to love the color yellow. Your pictures are lovely.
Pretty tree, I don't know that I've ever seen one of those before. Dentist visits are rarely fun...
I like your yellow! Sunshine on a tree.
It's always great to watching those lovely flowers high on the trees. nice choice.
It must be my age dear, I thought I was here yesterday, leaving a comment! LOL! I love laburnum, we have one in our garden, at the back by the stone steps. About 15 year old i would think! Maybes needs a prune! (Dont we all?) LOL!
Hope you are feeling better today.

They are beautiful and you seem to have captured a rare bit of sun too :-)
We don't see Laburnam here - it was so common in our previous life.
Sorry I'm late.
I have never seen ( or heard ) of this tree! My loss, since it is really, really pretty! Nice shots!
WOW! Thank you for all the messages! Not sure what I'm going to do for "Z" though!!!
