This week's layout challenge

Here is this week's layout:
and, thanks to copious codeine and diazepam (see last post!!!) I have managed to have a go!

  • The green paper is from a 6x6 K & Co pad. The other papers were in a freebie stash with Crafts Beautiful magazine out this month.
  • The circle is watercolour card. I drew around a pot for the shape, then drew a wiggly line and cut it out.
  • Then I stabbed it all around with a needle which was very therapeutic :^)
  • I've rubbed a gold stamp-pad round the edges of it, too.

  • I doodled the red flowers then scanned them in and printed them out on thick paper, cut out and coloured with water-colour pencils and water.
  • The snowflakes are white peel-offs with stick-on pearls in the middle.
  • "Happy Christmas" is from a sheet of white peel-offs too.

  • The robin is a Penny Black stamp which I've coloured with water-colour pencils and a wee wash of water.
  • Then I've used a new toy, a DecoArt Snow Writer, which sets solid. I bought it for adding a bit of snow here and there to things, but used it here on the robin's fur hat. I'd prefer to use something like Flower Soft for this, but I've yet to see this anywhere but online with a large postage fee. So I'm holding out for a special offer somewhere :)

I enjoyed making this one. It's also a wee bit larger than I've made before.

Stamps are so unfamiliar to me, must be a lot of fun having them. =D

This one reminds me of your painted robin ( robin? ). I like its roundness... cute.

What a delightful card. I have never got into the card thing but they look fun to do. There is a woman in our village who does it big time in fact the woman who was visiting me when her schlep of a husband needed lunch. She has made quite a little business of it and does lovely things. She presses flowers and includes them in her designs and does artwork too. I think I am missing a creative gene. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments I hope your back gets better fast.

I absolutely adore the fact that you created your flowers vs using stamps! You are so creative...really. I also love the paper piercing you did in the center circle...such a different approach that I haven't seen before. The squiggly circle is really creative also. You are very talented!

adorable! when i was a wee tot my mom used to emboss our christmas cards and added the white fluffy snow stuff and would color in the stamps with pastels...she's put her card-making box away though, but this design is too tempting for me not to persuade her to try. thanks for the comment!

You drew the flowers freehand? Wow! It really is an adorable card. i like the punchouts too.
I'm so sorry about your back honey. I hope the pain pills help and the doctors can find a way to fix the problem. I understand how frustrating it is to not be able to do the things you want to do when you are hurting. I'll keep you in my thoughts.
Big Gentle Hugs,
Lorianna
