Two birthday cards

Another old school friend, Caroline, turns 40 this week...... (eeeeek!).....

And Alex, my nephew, turns 8 later this month......

:^)

These images are from stamps by Penny Black. It would be hideously expensive to buy up a big range of them.... so! A search on Ebay revealed a cheaper option.... some people use their stamps to make images onto white card, then sell a bundle of them! A envelope arrived today containing a dozen different cat images, stamped with waterproof ink onto good quality watercolour card. This cost me £2.90, including postage. Bearing in mind how often I would get to use one stamp, I think this is a bargain for such variety!

She also sells some ready coloured-in and mounted. But that's the fun bit, isn't it? So I'm happy to do that bit myself.

If this way of breaking into stamping appeals to you, put "Rubber Stamp Images" into the search box at Ebay. There are a few sellers doing this, but the one I bought from is called c_daniels.

Hey Helena (LOL) thanks for the tip! I've wondered about stamps, but they're pricey and I don't know how often I'd use any given one.
I love both those cards.

Poor honeysuckle and chrysanths. The wet summer had caused trouble in places, and it sounds as if your garden's suffering. I hope it recovers for you.

What a good idea... I wonder if I have any worthwhile stamps left ... If so I can do up some on light card stock for you... maybe you could use them to make up some cards... it's been awhile since I used any stamps... must go have a look what I still have here...

Hi Helena,

Both cards are neat and isn't it so special getting a handmade card, rather than the shop purchased cards.

Your kitty cats, Fluffy and Scooter are so adorable.

Hugs
Carolyn

Oh, those are just lovely! I agree, coloring and spiffing them up is the best part. I'm actually hoping for a rainy day so I have an excuse to craft all afternoon. I need to practice my stamping and embellishing. Sometimes my creative muse runs away and needs to be coaxed back to help me. ;)
Hugs,
Lorianna

Bob tells me you have come over all sleepy as of late, I do hope the energy fairies pay you a visit real soon and you find yourself all up and busy again. xx
